Bogynja (the word from the Proto-Slavic language), female demon of nature, living in rivers, forests, lakes. Bogynje were women, which had committed suicide, died during a parturition or had killed a child or even children...
They destroy fishing nets, kidnap children and scare away horses and cattle.
